META-owned platform, WhatsApp has expressed willingness to help business owners in Nigeria and other parts of Africa expand their businesses through the WhatsAppreneur campaign.
The campaign will help business owners in Africa who use the WhatsApp Business app, to reach more customers and expand their business.
How will this happen, you may ask?
Well, an educational virtual webinar will be organized where the stories of both small and medium businesses in Africa will be highlighted to help teach business growth, opportunities, and strategies that are available on the WhatsApp Business app.
These small and medium businesses also help the economy, so it is only logical and right that they are helped, too.
The WhatsAppreneur Campaign is going to encourage not just small and medium businesses, but also micro-businesses.
WhatsApp’s Public Policy Director, Africa— Mrs Balkissa Ide Siddo, while talking about the campaign said:
“Across Africa, small and medium business owners are using the WhatsApp Business app to develop their business, showcase their products, close sales, and connect with their customers. The WhatsAppreneur Campaign serves the purpose of providing the resources businesses need to unlock their growth potential and help build a more resilient, inclusive, and empowered society”.
This shows that if we are talking about platforms that care about the growth of both their customers’ businesses and the economy at large, WhatsApp is one such platform.
Since the launch of the business version of WhatsApp in 2018, the platform has been doing its best in seeing businesses thrive. Many people who do their businesses online have a WhatsApp Business account that helps them connect with their customers/clients on a business level.
A WhatsApp Business account is such an easy, and convenient app to use for business. The reason is, asides from showing you the name of the business – rather than just the business owner’s name– it also shows you other things like the days and time the business is open, directions to the physical office (if any), email address, etc. There is even another feature that shows whether at the time of your checking, the office is open or not.
It is no doubt that with this kind of app in place, businesses will thrive more.
